History of temple,

                                       Gasota  Mahadev temple History 

Gasota Mahadev temple  is over 400 hundred years old  and is situated on Hamirpur- Jahu road at a distance of  9 (8+1) km from Hamirpur ,Himachal Pradesh , India  . A fair is held on 1st Monday of ‘Jeshtha’ month (last May) every year. This fair is also known by the name of cattle fair Gasota.
People and traders visit this place during mela to have glimpse of Shiv- linga and for selling and buying of cattle. This is very beautiful place. Natural water streams flow on both sides of the temples which adds to its beauty. A cow shed and inn has been built in the temple complex to facilitate visitors.
